Friday 11th August 2006. Remembering The Home Guard

A public memorial and open day was held today in memory of the Home Guard and The Corbyn Head Tragedy, in Torquay, whereby six gunners were killed 62 years ago this day 11th August 1944.

The two-hour event, which took place at the Brixham Battery Heritage Centre, included members of the Army, Home Guard and supporters of the general public. more.....
