On Saturday November 4th Brixham Battery is hosting a free talk/exhibition in the
Methodist Community Hall, Fore Street, Brixham starting at 2.30pm.

The talk entitled: 'Yanks in Devon and Cornwall in World War 2, and the return of the Veterans' will be given by Mr Jim Stanger, military historian from Plymouth, lasting one and a half hours.

Phil Trayhorn Chairman of the Brixham Battery Group says, “All are invited with free admission, and refreshments available. Hope to see you there!”

Phil goes on to explain, “This is a part of our Heritage Lottery funded project, 'Brixham's War'. Jim will tell us about the US Forces 'occupation' of Devon during the build up to D-Day June 6th 1944, he will focus on Brixham as home of the 29th Infantry Division who left from Brixham Harbour for the invasion of France.”

The Brixham Battery Heritage Group also wanted to let everyone know that that they have also been host to 3 Brixham Schools recently down at their museum, and have attended an excellent project on WW2 performed by the children of Chestnut Drive Primary School.
