The Brixham Battery's 1940's 'Fancy Dress Dance Do'
proved to be a complete sell out!
Eighty guests came along to the Brixham Heights Community Centre on Saturday evening (27th February 2010) and joined in on the Wartime Party atmosphere created by the 'Silver Wings Duo'.
Guests were invited to take the microphone and sing. Dave Murphy's (alias Stanley
Holoway) monologue 'Albert and the Lion' went down a treat!
The wartime food was was well received with Spam, Bully Beef and Woolton Pie bringing back memories of an austere but very healthy diet.
It was a real success and I must thank you for your support. I would also like to thank all those who came along and supported our charity event we raised over £200! Money that will allow the Heritage Museum to continue to open free of charge to visitors. |
