The new Heritage Lottery Funded 'Sound and Photo Archive Building'

Work has begun on our new ‘Sound and Photo Archive Building which will be located at our Heritage Centre at Fishcombe Road, Brixham.

In 2004 plans were approved by Torbay Council for the erection of the Archive Centre. Our architects, MTA Associates in Fore Street, Brixham, have worked hard to produce drawings for a modern building that will house our documents, photos and sound recordings which will relate to the ‘Brixham’s War’ Project.

Builders, S Fox and Sons commenced work on the site 2 weeks ago. Weather has been most favourable and on the 11th November 2006, the concrete base for the building was put in. The structural work for the new building is expected to be complete within the next 6 weeks. We aim to open the new Archive Building in early 2007.
